Director
James Gillies BSc (Hons) IMIstructE IEng
James founded JRG Consultant Engineers in 2022 after building a successful career within the structural engineering industry.
Graduating from University in 2015 with a First-Class Honors degree in Engineering, he gained experience across a range of respected structural engineering firms, steadily progressing to the role of Associate before establishing his own practice.
As an Incorporated Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers and the Engineering Council, James brings both technical expertise and a strong commitment to professional standards.
He is passionate about delivering innovative, practical, and client-focused engineering solutions, drawing on his experience across diverse projects.
Business Development Director
Lucy Gillies
Lucy joined JRG in 2025, bringing with her over 15 years of Business Development experience in the construction industry.
In her role as Business Development Director, she focuses on generating new leads, building and maintaining lasting professional relationships, and raising the company’s profile within the industry.
A natural people person, Lucy thrives on creating opportunities and connecting with clients to support the continued growth of JRG.

This is why JRG Consultant Engineers place communication as one of our key principles. We will provide updates and information, throughout the design process to ensure the client and all members of the design team know exactly what to expect and when.
In order to make the clients vision and design a reality, we know how important it is for all members of the design team to be on the same page.
That's why we ensure we are proactive when it comes to collaboration, knowing that careful planning and coordination at design stage can mitigate frustrating and costly problems during construction.
